Alabaster Caverns
Less than ¼ mile from us, the caves are open for tours year round (Closed on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day). Cave tours run every hour on the hour from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Alabaster Caverns is the largest gypsum cave in the world open to the public. Massive boulders of Alabaster are seen here in many varied colors: pink, white and even a rare black. The State Park has 200 acres of land which surround Cedar Canyon Lodge. They offer 20 campsites, shower facilities and a limited number of RV hookups with service. Also offered is wild caving, nature trails, a gift shop and playground. Hiking, caving, rock climbing, rock hounding, bird watching and artifact searching are all available at the park.

Boiling Springs State Park
Located about 20 minutes from the Cedar Canyon. They have a swimming pool, campgrounds, golf course and large park.
Little Sahara State Park
Less than an hour's drive from the Lodge. 1450 acres of sand dunes for recreational use. Little Sahara offers the perfect playground for off-road vehicle enthusiasts, mixed in with some fascinating history.
Great Salt Plains State Park
Located 55 miles to east. The lake consists of 8700 surface acres and sits in a basin bordered by salt plains on the west with red shale bluffs and sandy beaches nearer the dam. The Great Salt Plains State Park is the only place in the world where people can come to collect hourglass shaped Selenite Crystals which form just below the salt crusted surface of the salt flats.
